Beckstones Art Gallery and sought after artist Tim Gustard have had a close relationship for more than twenty years, during which time he has made for himself an international reputation for painting Still Life which have been described by experts as the best in the world. Now living here in the Lake District, Tim Gustard was born in 1954 in Lincolnshire and studied art at Stoke City Art School where he received a BA in Fine Art. Tim Gustard’s work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, Royal Scottish Society of Water Colour Painters and other prestigious venues. Tim Gustard was a member of The Miniature Art Society of Florida and has won many numerous awards both here and in the USA and his work is in numerous collections both in the UK and around the world. Tim has exhibited at Beckstones since the 1990s and since 2002 every one of his numerous one-man exhibitions of his work here have attracted huge interest, both domestic and international, and each time the entire collections were sold in minutes, setting successive records for artist and gallery. Eager buyers have regularly queued outside the gallery for many hours before it opened. In 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic, Beckstones’ first virtual exhibition of Tim’s work was a resounding success with almost all of collection sold within days. Tim’s next exhibition with Beckstones will be held in May 2026.

Congratulations to Tim for winning the prestigious Matt Bruce Memorial Award from the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour 2019 Exhibition at the Mall Galleries – for the most outstanding use of light in his painting ‘The little pasta tin’. Very well done indeed.
