Born on a dairy farm in 1972 Andrew Talbot discovered he could draw and paint from the age of 13. Encouraged by his art teacher to go to Art College, he completed a BTEC in Art and Design, followed by a BA in Fine Art (Painting) at Loughborough College. Having graduated at 21 Andrew Talbot undertook a variety of art work and associated business, until he was able to return fully to what he wanted to do most, which was to paint. During a short break in the Lake District in 2001, Andrew Talbot visited Beckstones Art Gallery and decided that his ambition was hopefully to exhibit there one day. When his paintings were ready Beckstones agreed to accept his work immediately and every piece that Andrew Talbot has completed since that day has passed through this gallery. Andrew Talbot is an unusually versatile artist and is equally at home with a wide range of subject matter, his more recurring themes including interiors and Still Life, as well as figures and farm animals. In 2005 Andrew Talbot had his first solo exhibition at Beckstones and all 22 of the exhibits were quickly sold. His subsequent one-man exhibitions held on alternate years since 2007 have attracted huge interest. Buyers have regularly queued for Andrew’s work, on one occasion eager buyers arrived more than 48 hours before the opening and camped out for 2 days and nights to secure their chosen paintings. Andrew’s next exhibition with Beckstones is planned for August 2024.
